The Rizal Monument is a memorial monument in Rizal Park in ManilaPhilippines built to commemorate the Filipino nationalist, José Rizal. A plaque on the pedestal front reads: "To the memory of José Rizal, patriot and martyr, executed on Bagumbayan Field December Thirtieth 1896. Train of Thomas and friends!

To be exact, it is just the head train that answer to this as the 2nd and 3rd cars behind it are a not in the league of Thomas and his friends at all—tall, metallic, stately in its fashion, at the back of which are color photos labeled “Intramuros” and “Rizal Park”.  Still, kids and their companion/s seem to love riding this contraption. Stylized calesas (horse-drawn carriage) going round bearing could-be balikbayan(visiting Filipinos living abroad). - source Work in progress Pinay

Chinese Garden, Rizal Park

Chinese Garden is one of the attractions in Rizal Park which is situated in the heart of the city of Manila, Philippines. Chinese Garden was built to promote friendship between China and the Philippines. Inside the garden is a lagoon and corridor designed like the Summer Palace in Beijing, China. Entrance fee is 5 Philippine pesos per person.

  • Chinese Garden. An ornate Chinese-style gate, carved with swirling dragons, leads you into this whimsical garden which looks like it has been transported from old Peking. Along the lagoon constructed to simulate a small lake, are pagodas and gazebos that are set off by red pillars and green-tiled roofs and decorated with a profusion of mythical figures. - source Wikipedia

Relief Map of the Philippines

is a giant raised-relief map of the country, including the Scarborough ShoalKalayaan, and eastern part of Sabah, in the middle of a small man-made lake.
